Dave Matthews says he's already started work on the next Dave Matthews Band album.
The frontman tells "Rolling Stone" he's been in the studio between road outings "trying to get a couple of things ready" for the follow-up to last year's Away from the World. Matthews says he's been working with producer Rob Cavallo, who helmed DMB's 2009 effort Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.
He isn't sharing many other details about the new material, however, teasing only that some of the songs will be familiar to fans who have been to the band's live shows.
Meanwhile, the Dave Matthews Band is scheduled to return to the road for their first shows in Matthews' native South Africa starting November 30th.
