Tropical Storm Nate threatens New Orleans

The Governor of Louisiana has declared a state of emergency due to hurricane Nate approaching New Orleans. Our favorite New Orleans band the Preservation Hall Jazz Band needs to prepare their homes and the Preservation Hall venue this weekend and unfortunately will not be appearing at the On Tap with KBCO show tomorrow.

Hurricane hunter aircraft are checking out Tropical Storm Nate.  The latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center shows Nate continues to move across the northwestern Caribbean Sea at 14 miles an hour with top winds of 45 miles an hour.

It will move into the southern Gulf of Mexico Friday night and approach the northern Gulf coast Saturday evening.  The current forecast track shows Nate making landfall early Sunday morning as a hurricane somewhere from Louisiana east to the western Florida Panhandle.
