I was in high school when Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas came out. I stumbled across a copy in our small town library (thank you Carnegie Library in Olney, Illinois) and was knock sideways. Sure his life style was attractive, but it was the way he wrote and the words he used that lured me in. No matter the subject matter, the fall of Nixon or the 1974 Super Bowl, he always hit the mark for me.
The portrayal of his life on screen has been a mixed bag...it would be like trying to explain what an LSD trip is like to someone who has never tried it. But like all the others, I'll check this out...
