Happy 79thBirthday Mick. Here's 10 things you might not know.

  1. He set a record for running the half mile in grade school.
  2. In the late 60s Mick and Paul McCartney talked about forming a record label.
  3. Charlie Watts once punched him. According to Keith Richard's memoir, Life, after a night of drinking in Amsterdam, Mick and Keith returned to their hotel, and against Keith's advice, Mick phoned up Charlie's room, saying "Where's my drummer"? Minutes later Charlie showed up at Jagger's room and said, "Never call me your drummer again"! He knocked Mick back over a silver platter of smoked salmon with a right hook.
  4. He was supposed to play Alex in A Clockwork Orange.
  5. It's estimated that he covers 12 miles on stage during a performance.
  6. Jagger blamed the Hell’s Angels for the murder at the Altamont Speedway Free Festival saying that they didn’t provide proper security. For that, the Hell’s Angels plotted to kill Jagger. They tracked him to a summer home in Long Island. The Hell’s Angels may have been successful if their boat didn’t capsize in a sudden storm
  7. He auditioned for the role of Dr. Frank N. Furter in 1975. It was for the film adaptation of The Rocky Horror Show.
  8. Paid the legal fees of Sex Pistol Sid Vicious, when he was on trial for murder.
  9. He doesn't shy away from diaper duty. In fact, he's quite good at it. "I've always changed nappies, for other people's children as well as my own," he said. "I change[d] Ronnie Wood's children's nappies. You do these things when it's necessary – although I'm not about to become a full-time house-husband like John Lennon did at one stage [but] I'm relatively experienced and I quite enjoy it."
  10. Jagger is an avid supporter of the England national football team and founded Jagged Internetworks to cover English cricket.
