S.O.S from Chrissie Hynde: Where are James Honeyman Scott's guitars?

Chrissie Hynde is asking for help.

She writes on Facebook, "S.O.S.

"This is a special alert for all Pretenders fans.

"I was hanging out with Johnny Marr the other day and he was asking me 'whatever happened to Jimmy Scott’s (James Honeyman Scott) guitars'? And you know what... I couldn’t tell him because after Jimmy died all of his guitars seemed to vanish.

"None of us ever saw them again.

"So, if ANYONE out there has a clue as to their whereabouts, can you please let us know? We, the fans and friends of Jimmy, would dearly love to see those beloved guitars again. Someone must know where they are?"

Scott died on June 16th, 1982 in his girlfriend's apartment from heart failure caused by cocaine intolerance. He was 25. It came two days after the firing of bassist Pete Farndon due to his drug issues. Farndon died less than a year later -- April 14th, 1983 -- from a heroin overdose.

There is a chance that these guitars could turn up. Randy BachmanPeter Frampton and Jimmy Page are good examples of artists who were reunited with long lost guitars.
