How will you celebrate Earth Day ? Here are some ideas!

Saturday, April 22, 2023 is Earth Day! We've been doing this since 1970!

The official theme for 2023 is Invest In Our Planet.

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

Look for ways you can Reduce, Reuse and Recycle throughout your home. You’ll save natural resources, energy and money, and you’ll reduce waste sent to landfills.

Here are some other ways you can help save the planet for future generations.

  • Turn off lights and electronics when not in use to conserve energy in your home. Use a programmable thermostat.
  • Think twice about printing anything. Use online payments for bills. reduce junk mail.
  • Leave your car at home every once in awhile.
  • Turn off the tap while brushing teeth and washing dishes.
  • Buy local.
  • Act local. Get involved in environmental work in your local community. Clean up local parks.

Did you know that Colorado's national parks and monuments are free on Earth Day? Enjoy nature!

Have you taken the kids to The Children’s Museum in Denver ? They host an Earth Day celebration with educational exhibits that focus on our planet. Check out the 3D sandbox!

There's also a big Earth Day celebration in Lakewood at Heritage in Belmar. 11 am-7pm with lots of activities for kids and grown-ups.

There are several other celebrations in cities all over the metro area on Saturday! Have fun!

Enjoy your planet and teach your kids to respect it!
