Ryan Miller of Guster will have his first-ever musical hit the stage this fall.
Safety Not Guaranteed, based upon the 2012 film that featured music by Miller, will open at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on September 17th. Miller wrote songs for this production, which has a book by Nick Blaemire and is directed by Lee Sunday Evans.
Here's the plot of the musical: "Darius, an entry-level journalist, sets out to report her first story about a classified advertisement offering the opportunity to go back in time; she begins an odd and endearing relationship with Kenneth, the eccentric man who placed the ad."
Miller says, "This is the most exciting thing I've ever been a part of maybe, like, ever. (Band excluded, but y'all know that.)"
