Springsteen talks about wife's cancer in new special-Watch the trailer

A trailer has been released for the ABC special, Bruce Springsteen: Backstage and Backstreets.

Hosted by George Stephanopoulos, it promotes his new documentary, Road Diary, which starts streaming on October 25th on Hulu and Disney+, which, like ABC, are owned by Disney.

The trailer is a montage of performance and interview clips with the only news being why his wife Patti Scialfa came clean with her cancer diagnosis in the documentary. And, as Bruce told us in a recent interview, it was to explain her absence on the road. The good news is she's doing okay and that they caught it early.

Springsteen will also talk about some of his health issues in the ABC special, which premieres on October 20th at 10 p.m. ET.

Springsteen will be in New York tonight (Tuesday) for a Q&A session following a screening of Road Diary at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He'll then fly to L.A. to do it again on October 21st at the David Geffen Theater at the Motion Picture Academy. He’ll be joined at both events by his manager, Jon Landau, and the film’s director, Thom Zimny.
