Breaking Music News: Billy Joel cancels shows for the rest of the year

Billy Joel has canceled all his shows for the year and next due to a medical condition.

His office released a statement saying it's due to "a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance. Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health. He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage."

And Billy added to that, saying, "I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding."

Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus is a condition where cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) accumulates in the brain's ventricles, but the pressure inside the skull remains within the normal range.

Included among the 17 canceled shows were stadium dates with Stevie NicksRod Stewart and Sting.

His documentary, Billy Joel: And So It Goes, will premiere at New York's Tribeca Festival in June, and will air on HBO over the summer.
