Prince's 1987 concert film Sign O' the Times will be released to IMAX for the first time on August 29th.
It will have a one week run in IMAX theaters, and tickets are on sale now.
The movie documents a typical show on Prince's 1987 European tour -- but what you see on screen wasn't filmed there. After filming three shows in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and one in Antwerp, Belgium at the end of June, Prince decided to reshoot all the performances at Paisley Park Studios. So what you'll see is Prince and his band lip-synching to audio from those four shows filmed during a week in July of 1987.
