Ed Sheeran is dropping a couple of albums, getting ready to move to the United States, and has a new line of ice cream coming out!
Apparently, he recorded too many good songs to fit them all on his Play album, which drops this week -- so he's set to put out another one.
Ed tells Britain's Sun that he's sticking with themes for his album titles, saying, "I made Play and Rewind at the same time and we finished Play first because it felt like the most exciting one."
So when will we get to hear the second set? Sheeran revealed, "Rewind is I’d say two months off being totally locked and loaded and ready to go. They’re very much like twin albums. But one leaned more into Indian culture and one more into nostalgia. So they veered off in different directions."
Play drops on Friday, September 12th.
Meanwhile, he is moving to America, and possibly, Nashville.
Appearing on The 2 Johnnies podcast, Ed said, “I’m just about to move to America… I feel like I might be the only person moving to America… I’m going on tour there for a while, so I have a family, so I can’t dip in and out, we’re going and settling there.”
Earlier this year, he hinted that he might be moving `to Nashville, because he'd fallen in love with country music.
And now---about that ice cream!
The singer is coming out to Play with the help of gourmet brand Van Leeuwen, which is rolling out Play Pink ice cream, a flavor that comes in a hot pink container that matches Ed's new album cover. The limited-edition flavor combines a pink punch ice cream base with dragon fruit and pieces of guava cake.
Van Leeuwen co-founder Laura O'Neill tells Food & Wine, "This creation was all about the color to match the artwork of the Play record, but we wanted to make sure it was also all about the flavor. It’s fruity and bright and tropical — perfect for the end of summer.
