Here's perhaps the most unlikely paring of the year -- Mike Patton of Faith No More and Scott and Seth Avett of The Avett Brothers.
The three have teamed up for a new project called AVTT/PTTN that will release its self-titled debut album on November 14th.
The first single, "Eternal Love," dips more into the Americana music that has brought the Avetts much success than the funky hard rock that took Faith No More to the Top 10 in the early '90s. Check it out on YouTube.
Scott Avett says, "Mike’s part of our DNA, like the fabric of our youth. Literally, we studied him. He’s a dear friend now, but when we were younger, I was imitating him.”
Patton adds, “My peculiar challenge in this was to become a long distant cousin. A brother that was orphaned. Maybe they kept him in the chicken coop or some [crap]. They brought him out years and years later.”
