When it comes to proposals, very little compares to popping the question at one of the (if not THE) happiest places on Earth: Disney World (or Land for that matter). And what could make it even more special is Kesha helping you do it! This scenario actually happened recently at Disney, and it was truly magical.
Disney's Gay Days celebration recently took place at Disney World's Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida, and as part of the festivities, Kesha (rocking some amazing rainbow hair) performed. But her performance was extra special because during a very emotional moment, she helped a couple named Joseph (Joey) and Naveed get engaged onstage! Hey, Disney is all about dreams coming true, right?
Here's what went down: During her performance, Kesha called "two winners" as part of a "contest" up to the stage (a ploy to get them up there) -- David and Naveed. She told the audience she had a special surprise for them. Once the couple got to the stage, she blindfolded Naveed first, and pretended to blindfold Joey. Then, Kesha spun Naveed around in a circle a few times, and when she took his blindfold off, Joey was down on one knee to ask Naveed to marry him! Finally, Joey also got down on one knee to say, "a hundred times yes!"
On Instagram, Kesha shared a photo of the touching moment, along with the caption:
"Overcome and overwhelmed with emotion on stage last night. I'm honored that @jnegrelli57 & @m_abu24 shared such a monumental moment with me, and let me help orchestrate their surprise engagement💍❤️💍. love is the magic in life, and really there is nothing more important. he said yes. ;) he actually said "a million times, yes". then my heart melted and I cried. haha. congratulations"
She followed up with another Instagram post, a selfie of the three of them together. She wrote:
"awwww my boys💍❤️💍 so happy for their engagement 🎉🎉🎉 also please don't write any hateful or homophobic comments on this picture (( or my page in general )) if you don't support equal rights then we have nothing in common. only love here please!!!!!! #equalityforall#loveoverhate ps see u guys at Pittsburg pride this weekend????"
So how did Joey get Kesha to help him propose to Naveed? He said he took a shot and reached out to her on Instagram, and she hooked him up with her management to coordinate the details! He told Billboard of the proposal plans:
"I had been wanting to propose for a while, just was not sure how to do it, so I just decided to message her on Instagram and never thinking in a million years she'd ever get back to me, and then she did! She put me in touch with her manager, and tried to hammer out the details from there."
