After Selena Gomez announced a public hiatus to focus on her health, a string of her upcoming tour dates were left canceled, including her set on the forthcoming Global Citizen Festival. Still, pop music fans won't go without their fix as Demi Lovato has been announced as her replacement on the bill.

On Wednesday (September 7), it was announced that her pop peer will join the star-studded festival, which will take place September 24 in New York City's Central Park. The event, which is dedicated to raising awareness for philanthropic efforts, is a reasonable booking for Lovato, who knows a lot about giving back to her community.

In a statement, which was published by PEOPLE, Global Citizen founder and CEO Hugh Evans spoke highly about their decision to add Demi to the lineup. "Demi has been an incredible ambassador for global health and gender equality campaigns for many years. We are so thrilled to align her artistry and advocacy and have her join us as a headliner at the 2016 Global Citizen Festival in Central Park!" he said.

Among the additional headliners expected to hit the Global Citizen Festival stage include Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Metallica and Major Lazer. Click here to find out how you can snag tickets to this year's festivity.
