Hear Rare Audio of Nirvana's 1991 Acoustic Set at a Scotland Pub

A little more than 26 years ago, Nirvana played an acoustic set for fans at a pub in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The December 1, 1991, performance recently surfaced online. Nirvana reportedly played the gig at Edinburgh's Southern Bar under the pseudonym "Teen Spirit" to all of 20 people, according to Rolling Stone

Frontman Kurt Cobain played guitar for the set, while drummer Dave Grohl played bass. The Edinburgh News reports that bassist Krist Novoselic was at the same pub, but did not perform with his bandmates.

Above, you can listen to the band perform "Dumb," "Polly" and about half of "Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam."

Two nights previous to the pub gig, Nirvana played a full band set at Edinburgh's Calton Studios.

The Seattle-based grunge band's seminal second album, Nevermind, had been released about two months earlier in September of that year.
