The Battle for Stardom is finally here, and Meghan Trainor is READY ... are you? The debut of The Four: Battle for Stardom has arrived and some very talented contestants are beginning their journey to taking their music career to the next level.

Beginning with contestants Blair Perkins, Ash Minor, Lex Lu, and Elanese Lansen, The Four will defend their spots on stage as they are challenged individually by new singers determined to replace them. If the existing four outperform their challengers, they survive to sing another week, until the end of the season, when the final four face off against each other. But in the end, only one will win.

Hosted by Fergie, the the series’ panel of judges DJ Khaled, Puff Daddy, Meghan Trainor, and Charlie Walk are committed to launching and guiding the winner’s music career. Not only will the winner's career launch with the help of the judges, they will also become iHeartRadio's "On the Verge" artist; an artist development program supporting the winner with airplay across iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide. This program has helped launched the careers of artists like Sam Smith, Fifth Harmony and Nick Jonas, among others.

During a recent interview, Meghan Trainor explained what it means to hold iHeartRadio's On The Verge title. "On the Verge Artist is the coolest thing ever; for a brand new artist, especially. As an example, it blew up Sam Smith, and Julia Michaels, who now is nominated for two Grammys just a year after she came out in music, is incredible," she explained to iHeartRadio. Trainor adds, "It's the biggest push you can ask for as a brand new artist."

Meghan is in good company on the panel of judges, which includes Puff Daddy, DJ Khaled, and Charlie Walk. She explains that she's become close with each of them. "I'm so happy that I can say Diddy's a friend now. I consider us, I don't know what he thinks, but I think we're friends. And Khaled. Charlie Walk's always been a good friend of mine. So it's just like going to work with your friends."

As for her judge duties, Meghan has met the four contestants who will be defending their spot on the show week after week, and she tells iHeartRadio, "These, The Four we have, I feel like I'm gonna get too close to them, and it's gonna be emotional, and if I see anyone go home today you'll see tears."

So, what can you expect to see on The Four: Battle For Stardom? Megan explains, "Each week new challengers come up and we have our Four that have their thrones, but they can't be comfortable, because maybe a new challenger will knock 'em out. We'll see." She adds of working with The Four, "I constantly am giving them advice, but I'm also working with the new challengers. When they come up, they have to get through us. So if they don't even make it through us, they can't challenge our Four, because we're like 'mm uh no, go home.' You know? So it's intense."

Meghan describes the show is extremely competitive, and fans will notice right away. She tells iHeartRadio, "The first thing you see is you gotta get through us, and challenge them, and it's just battle after battle. It's a battle for your dreams, and I think that's great that it happens right away."
