Oregonians Have Pumped Their Own Gas for 4 Days and Flooded Us With Memes

posted by Andrew Magnotta -

On New Year's Day a new law went into effect in Oregon that finally allowed self-service fuel stations in the state.

Oregon was one of only two remaining U.S. states (the other being New Jersey) still holding onto laws mandating only full-service gas stations. The situation went viral as many Oregonians complained about the law in the comments of a Facebook post by a Medford, Oregon, TV station.

The unintentional hilarity captured the attention of social media users on all platforms.

Whether any of the photos, are actually from Oregon this week is besides the point.

Comments like this were all the Internet needed.

"I've lived in this state all my life and I REFUSE to pump my own gas. I had to do it once in California while visiting my brother and almost died doing it. This a service only qualified people should perform. I will literally park at the pump and wait until someone pumps my gas. I can't even."

Release the memes!

A new law in Oregon makes New Jersey the ONLY state where you can’t pump your own gas. How much longer will that last? 🚗💨💨⛽️ #gas #petroleum #gasoline #selfserve #fullservice #oregon #newjersey
