Foo Fighters Drummer Drives The Same Pickup Truck He Had In High School

If you need another reason to love the guys in Foo Fighters, drummer Taylor Hawkins revealed that he drives the same red 1986 Toyota pickup truck he's had since high school. Listen, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and Hawkins' dedication to his first car after an insanely successful rock career is charming, to say the least. To put this in perspective, he's worth $30 million but drives a car worth $400.

While promoting their last album Concrete And Gold, Hawkins shared the vehicular tidbit while speaking to New Zealand's Radio Hauraki. When asked if they drive on a daily basis, Hawkins said that he has two standby cars he loves. The first being a Subaru Baja, which he described as "hard to kill." “It’s from 2005.  Suburus are tough," he continued.

"I still have my truck from high school, too," Hawkins slyly dropped into the conversation. "It's an '86, red Toyota 4x4."

On the other hand, his bandmate Dave Grohl is living true to his rockstar status and drives a $135,000 Tesla P100D. “It goes 0-60 in 2.4 seconds,” Grohl said.  “It’s the fastest car I’ve ever been in, in my entire life.”

“And I’m sure when people see me driving it, they’re like, ‘wow, Dave Grohl is a fu**ing a***ole.'”

This isn't the first time Hawkins has talked about his old rides. In a 2013 interview with The Bull Magazine (noted by Digital Music News), Hawkins said, "I don’t give a shit about cars.” You see my collection. All of my cars add up to the price of one person’s car on the street.”

Hawkins has never been one to show off his money and live the typical "rockstar" lifestyle and has never been in it for the money. He told CNBC, “I don’t waste my time thinking about how I could make more when I already got enough. I’m not a banker, I’m a musician."
