Listen to Judas Priest's Fierce New Song "Firepower"

Judas Priest has released a new song called "Firepower," the title track from the band's forthcoming new album.

You can stream it above.

The British heavy metal legends have remained busy on tour and in the studio in recent years, even as the band approaches its 50th anniversary next year.

Firepower will be released March 9 via Epic Records. Priest's last album was 2014's Redeemer of Souls

If the song "Firepower" is any indication, Judas Priest fans are in for another furious new album, packed with classic riffs and calculated lyrics.

"We're an open book," frontman Rob Halford recently told Metal Hammer about the lack of limitations on the band's writing. "We can go anywhere, and that's my job, where the proverbial word 'challenge' comes into play. I'm looking for things around me in the real world and in the metal fantasy world, so I'm making political comment and comments on the environment, as metaphorically as I can."

Halford added that he thinks the new album sounds like it could have been made by a much younger band.

Firepower track listing:

01. Firepower

02. Lightning Strike

03. Evil Never Dies

04. Never The Heroes

05. Necromancer

06. Children of the Sun

07. Guardians

08. Rising From Ruins

09. Flame Thrower

10. Spectre

11. Traitors Gate

12. No Surrender

13. Lone Wolf

14. Sea Of Red

Judas Priest was nominated and denied entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this past year. Halford said in December that he thinks it would mean a lot to heavy metal for Judas Priest to be included in the Hall.

"Personally, I would love it," Halford told a Phoenix, AZ, radio station on eventually getting into the Hall of Fame. "I think we deserve it. We've put our 10,000 hours in and more. Beyond that we just feel that heavy metal music deserves more space on the shelf at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."

Firepower will be Judas Priest's 18th studio album. The band's tour is scheduled to start in March, not too far from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
