Todd Rundgren says that he doesn't care to be in the Rock Hall.

Todd Rundgren was nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this week for the third time, and, for the third time, he could care less......He took time out of his tour rehearsal in Chicago Thursday night to comment on this year's nomination.

he said :

"I expect to poll near the bottom now, you know, now that my fans have demonstrated that they understand that it is a mysterious cabal who actually does the actual choosing of whoever it is that gets in, now I don't care again."

"I wouldn't care anymore about it, but I would have to acknowledge my fans. But I don't think I would actually go to the ceremony. In fact I might even send some of my fans to collect it."

Rundgren is not alone in his feelings about the Rock Hall.

David Johansen, whose New York Dollswere also nominated again, tells Billboard, "To me the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame appears to be a racket. [Laughs] I don't know what to think about it, I guess it'll sink in eventually."

Rundgren produced the Dolls first and fourth albums.

The Rock Hall's Fan Vote is open through April 30th at RockHall.com.
