The Woody Creek Tavern was made famous in the writings of Hunter S. Thompson. It often served as his office and where he would occasionally hold court. I try to go every time I'm up there and dance with his spirit. As their website says, a single word doesn't do justification...it's bizarre, strange, peculiar, odd, curious, funny, outlandish, funny, abnormal, eccentric, unorthodox, queer, extraordinary, weird, wacky, kooky, and freaky. At the Woody Creek Tavern the Mexican food is the best in the valley, the tamales have attained near mythical status and the strong blue agave margaritas are the best in the valley.
