Levitt Pavilion Denver announced on Monday, April 19, they will be returning this summer.
In order to return after a year without live music, the organization has started Levitt's Comeback Fund. They're asking for support to raise the $25,000 needed to host their 2021 comeback season.
The free summer concert series will kick off on May 14. Performances will include some of the Denver area's finest like DeVotchKa, Flobots, Central City Opera, and stand-up comedian Adam Cayton-Holland.
Online RSVPs for the free shows open at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 23, at levittdenver.org. VIP tickets will also be available.
Levitt Pavilion Denver is the first and currently the only free venue in Denver, according to their website. The nonprofit began putting on free shows in the summer of 2017.
They had three seasons of free concerts before the COVID-19 pandemic hit last spring.
“This past year has been challenging for the music industry and for many in our community,” said executive director Chris Zacher in a press statement. “We understand the healing power of music especially when it’s combined with community building. We are looking forward to having everyone back on our lawn singing and dancing together this summer.”
