Van Morrison angrily lashes out over Northern Ireland’s Covid Restrictions

he rock icon directed his rant at the official after his series of mini shows were called off last night (Thursday) at the last minute, calling Health Minister Robin Swann “very dangerous." Van hoped that the The Europa Hotel would be able to have the gigs classified as test events, but the effort failed.

Speaking to what was a planned pre-show dinner event, Morrison called out the Minister, saying in frustration, "Robin Swann has all the power, and he's keeping us in this for over 15 months." Pounding his hand into the podium, Van then barked seven times -- in an increasingly angry tone -- "Robin Swann is very dangerous!"

Morrison then got Parliament member Ian Paisleyto join him on the podium, where he joined the Van-venting. Not everyone was pleased with the stunt. Unionist party leader Doug Beattie tells the BBC, "I am absolutely disgusted by what I saw... They should be ashamed of themselves. Two grown men who should know better, engaging in a very personal attack on Northern Ireland’s health minister."
