New STING song coming out Wed. New LP in Nov. He explains.

Of course I had to post my favorite picture of Sting! LOL That was from his show a few years ago in Denver!!!! LOL!!

Sting will release his 15th album this fall. TitledThe Bridge, it's set for release on November 19th.

He tells the Los Angeles Times the songs were “written in a year of global pandemic, personal loss, separation, disruption, lock down and extraordinary social and political turmoil...

"It was certainly time for me to make a record, but the circumstances were unique. It’s difficult to get people together in one place, so I did a lot of recording remotely via Zoom and via studio technology. But I think the theme of the record is building bridges between separations. I didn’t begin that way - I was just writing songs - but at some point in the process I went, 'Oh, that’s what this is about.'"

The first single, “If It’s Love,” will be out Wednesday. He says it's "the most whimsical song on the record, so I thought, 'Why not?' Any song with whistling in it is a winner for me."

The Bridge is Sting's first album of new material since 2016's 57th & 9th.

Sting will return to the stage starting September 27th in Italy.

Commenting on performing during the pandemic, he says, "Everyone should feel safe - the audience, the artist, the people working the show. I’m hoping the vaccines will really start to kick in by the time our show starts. I’m very much in favor of vaccines."

Asked about being vaccinated, which he is, he says, "I’m old enough to remember polio - kids in my street who were crippled by a disease that was eradicated very quickly by vaccines. So I [avoid] people who doubt their effectiveness."

Sting starts his My Songs Las Vegas residency on October 19th at Caesars Palace with eight shows through November 13th.
