WATCH: Mask Mandate Returning For Adults At Miami-Dade Public Schools

Amid a COVID-19 positivity rate that has soared to 25% and classes set to resume on Monday following winter break, masks will be mandatory again for all adults in Miami-Dade County Public Schools facilities including on school buses, but Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho says because of state law, they can only strongly encourage mask use for students.

State law also bans students exposed to COVID from having to quarantine if they don't have symptoms. Employees who test positive as late as yesterday be able to return to campuses on Monday if they're asymptomatic or have gone 24-hours without taking fever reducing medication.

The Broward County School Board has called an emergency meeting for tomorrow to vote on similar adult masking measures.
