A new R.E.M. tribute EP is coming from an unlikely singer -- Micky Dolenz of The Monkees.
Dolenz Sings R.E.M. will be released on October 13th and feature covers of four songs -- "Shiny Happy People," "Leaving New York," "Man on the Moon" and "Radio Free Europe."
There is a bit of a connection between R.E.M. and The Monkees. R.E.M. used to cover The Monkees' hit "(I'm Not) Your Stepping Stone," and Peter Buck co-wrote a song and played guitar on title track to The Monkees' 2018 album Christmas Party.
