Here's what we know from our traffic Department:
A semi hauling a modular home (80,000 pound load) hit the WB C-470 overpass to WB I-70 on ramp at about 10:30 a.m. this morning.
All lanes of WB I-70 were closed at C-470 at 11 am. and remain closed. The ramp from WB C-470 to WB I-70 is also closed, as is the ramp from WB 6th Ave. in Golden to WB I-70.
Traffic is being diverted from WB I-70 onto EB C-470. Anyone wishing to continue on to WB I-70 should exit at Colfax, go WB until it turns into Hwy 40 and take that WB to get back on WB I-70. Anyone going beyond Colfax will be routed on to EB C-470.
Golden police are even recommending drivers exit earlier at CO-58 and take it through Golden to Hwy-40.
CDOT's bridge inspection team is on the scene examining the bridge. Removal of the truck and load has not yet begun as of 1 p.m.
There is visible damage to the underside of the bridge so it may take a while to reopen.
