Dead & Company are reportedly in talks to play at the Sphere next summer.

The people behind the Sphere in Las Vegas seem to think jam bands are the way to fill the void after U2 wrap up their run on March 2nd.

Phish have already been booked from April 18th to the 21st, and the New York Post reports that Dead & Company are in talks to play at the $2.3 billion venue next summer.

A residency would allow them to keep their promise that they were done touring. And both John Mayer and Oteil Burbridge have spoken about how they still want -- and expect -- to play again with Bob Weir and Mickey Hart.

Another connection to the Sphere is Dead & Company's manager Irving Azoff, a friend and advisor to Sphere owner James Dolan, and who also manages U2. U2's run at Sphere continues this weekend with shows tonight (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday).
