Green Day performs in the subway and talks "Saviors" tour

Green Day and Jimmy Fallon made a surprise appearance in the NYC subway at Rockefeller station. They played an acoustic set and Jimmy played the tambourine.

According to video posted by fans, singer Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool and Fallon arrived in disguise, wearing floppy wigs and shades — with Fallon deeply undercover in a long blonde weird beard and matching shoulder-length curly hair wig. The segment may air Friday when the album comes out. Or it may air sooner! Watch for it.

Green Day's new album, Saviors is indeed due out on Friday. But you might not get to hear much of it this summer.

When their stadium tour with The Smashing Pumpkins and Rancid was announced last year they said the trek would mark the 20th anniversary of American Idiot and the 30th anniversary of Dookie. Today (Wednesday) they announced they're playing both albums in full.

The band's announcement also promises "a bunch of your other favorites new and old all summer long." And with Dookie clocking in at around 40 minutes and American Idiot around 58 minutes, their sets will have to be well over two hours cram in those extra favorites.

The Saviors tour starts August 5th in Flushing, New York.
