The 1975 being sued by Malaysia for what Matty Healy did on stage

The 1975 are being sued for $2.4-million by the organizer of Malaysia's Good Vibes Festival.

Variety reports the suit was filed Monday in the U.K.'s High Court, with the promotor claiming that Matty Healy’s on-stage protest against the country’s anti-LGBTQ laws resulted in the festival being shut down by the government.

The suit says that the band and their management team were aware that they couldn't swear, smoke or drink on stage, talk about politics or religion and couldn't have any kissing on stage.

The suit says that the group decided to play “a completely different setlist” than the one that was approved and snuck a bottle of wine on stage. The promoter also claims that a “long pretend passionate embrace” between Healy and bassist Ross MacDonald was done “with the intention of causing offence and breaching the regulations and the terms of the agreement.”
