New Clapton single out now, album coming Oct 4th . Watch "One Woman" video

Eric Clapton has announced the details of his new album, Meanwhile, his first since 2018's Happy Xmas, and before that, 2016's I Still Do.

As we've been reporting, Meanwhile is a collection of the songs he's released since the pandemic, including "Heart of a Child" and "Pompous Fool," the three anti-COVID lockdown songs he did with Van Morrison, the cover of Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer's "Moon River" with Jeff Beck, and six new ones. The first of those, the reggae-flavored "One Woman," is out now on streaming and download sites.

Meanwhile will be released digitally on October 4th followed by the CD and vinyl on January 24th.

Clapton began his first tour in South America on Friday in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He did the live debut of “The Call” off Meanwhile, along with the live debut of “Believe in Life” off his Reptile album. He broke out “Running on Faith” for the first time since 2019; “Lonely Stranger” from Unplugged for the first time since he recorded that album in 1992; “Change the World” for the first time since 2019; and “Behind the Mask” for the first time since 1996. Clapton’s next show is Tuesday in Brazil.
