One of the producers of the Bob Dylan bio-pic A Complete Unknown has two more music-related projects in the works.
Peter Jaysen, whose company Veritas Entertainment helped nail down the rights to Dylan’s musical archive and life story for the film, said in an appearance on The Town With Matthew Belloni, “Due to our involvement with Bob doing A Complete Unknown, we’ve been fortunate enough that right now we’re working on, with [director] Wash Westmoreland, the great writer-director, a Syd Barrett movie, one of the founders of Pink Floyd."
Jaysen didn't say how far along the project is at this point. Barrett was the subject of the 2023 documentary Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd.
As for the second project, Jaysen revealed, “We have had multiple Zooms with the estate of Mama Cass Elliot and met with her daughter, Owen, and are close to acquiring the rights to her book, My Mama Cass.” That book was published in May of this year.
