Paul McCartney's third show in a row at Bowery Ballroom in New York City, set for Friday night, will be a bit different than the previous two.
Journalist Lindsey Adler was one of the fans in line long before tickets went on sale at 1 p.m. today (Thursday), and she tells us that only 90 tickets were distributed. (The first person in line for tickets got there at 8:45 pm Wednesday, just as last night's show was wrapping up.)
Adler was told it was because the capacity had been lowered from the standard 575 as McCartney's production crew made alterations to the stage and brought in an outside soundboard. (The Bowery's soundboard is on a balcony, so an outside soundboard on the floor cuts capacity.)
Adler also tells us that notices of filming were posted at the venue on Thursday morning. It's not clear what the concert will be filmed for, but with McCartney announced as one of the guests for SNL 50th anniversary special on NBC Sunday night it seems logical that it could be used for that show.
