The touring van once owned by Seattle band Melvins that has artwork drawn on it by Kurt Cobain will be displayed in Seattle this weekend.
The "Melvan" is a 1972 Dodge Sportsman Royal Van served as the main vehicle for Melvins in their early touring days and it features a KISS mural on one side hand-drawn by the late Nirvana frontman using Sharpie markers. The van will be displayed as part of Saturday's Record Store Day festivities at two local stores -- Easy Street Records and Silver Platters.
After the weekend, the van will be cut into pieces and the Cobain mural part will go up for bids as part of Julien's Auctions' "Music Icons" sale, set for May 30th and 31st in New York City.
