Dave Matthews Band played a full album in order for the 1st time ever!!

Dave Matthews Band played an album in full and in order for the first time ever Saturday night in George, Washington.

The band didn't announce they were going to do it before the concert and started playing 1998's Before These Crowded Streets five songs into their set. (That's the album with "Crush" and "Stay (Wasting Time).")

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones were the night's opening act, which made performing the full album easier as Fleck guested on several tracks when DMB recorded it in 1997 and early 1998. Fleck and his band joined them for several songs during the album performance.

The decision to do Before These Crowded Streets wasn't something Matthews and company had planned out well in advance. Bassist Stefan Lessard wrote on BlueSky, "What's funny is we didn't know we were doing this till four hours before the show."

According to the DMB Almanac, the only other time the band played every song from an album at a show was November 30th, 2012, when all of Away From the World made it into their set, but not in sequence and with other songs interspersed.
