The Lemonheads Now Have Their Own Beer

It has to have a lemony taste, right?

Evan Dando from The Lemonheads teamed up with Verdant Brewery to celebrate the band’s first new album in almost two decades! The result is ‘Marauders Of The Sea’, a 6.5% hazy IPA brewed at Verdant’s Penryn brewery with Evan rolling up his sleeves and getting stuck into brew day. Inspired by a track from their upcoming record ‘Love Chant’, this soft and gluggable IPA is packed with Nectaron (NZ), Krush (US), and Citra (US) hops, bringing waves of citrus, pineapple and peach. You can grab a 6-pack now on Verdant’s webshop: https://www.bit.ly/Verdant-Shop This project is more than just a beer. Evan joined Verdant in the brewhouse for a playful video shoot, learning the ropes of brewing while working his own magic: mashing, mixing, tasting, and even canning. And yes—they can confirm: the man can brew! Verdant Brewing are also sponsoring The Lemonheads’ European tour bus this summer/autumn, keeping the band fuelled as they take ‘Love Chant’ on the road across 35 shows. And if you’re Cornwall-based, don’t miss this: on Tuesday 1st October, Evan Dando plays a rare solo show at the Verdant Taproom, joined by shoegaze legends Chapterhouse. Fun fact: Chapterhouse supported The Lemonheads way back in ’93, so this reunion will be something really special. Adam, Verdant Brewing co-founder, puts it best: “We’ve been fans of The Lemonheads since way back, last catching them live at the Garage in Highbury in ’94. When the chance came up to collaborate with Evan Dando, we grabbed it with both hands. Having Evan at the brewery was pure magic, and now we’re counting down the days until his acoustic show in October. Massive thanks to Fire Records and Bull & Wolf Video Production for making this happen.” Marauders Of The Sea IPA lands on Wednesday 3rd September via Verdant’s webshop, before making its way into pubs, bars and bottle shops around the UK. Don’t miss it. “The Lemonheads’ ability to merge punk rock’s energetic simplicity with lush, melodic hooks is both timeless and influential.” Pitchfork “Few bands have been able to walk the line between the angst of grunge and the warmth of folk quite as elegantly as The Lemonheads.” Rolling Stone ‘Love Chant’ is out 24th October. Available in Classic Black Vinyl, White Vinyl, Yellow Vinyl, Blue Vinyl (Rough Trade Exclusive), Picture Disc (Fire Webshop + Bandcamp exclusive – pictured) and CD: https://thelemonheads.lnk.to/lovechantWE (via YouTube)
