Brian May/Queen teases an upcoming box set by sharing a Christmas song

Brian May teased an upcoming box set version of Queen 2 by sharing a previously unreleased Christmas song from the band.

He played "Polar Bear" on his Planet Rock show. The track was done in 1974 during the Queen 2 sessions but didn't make the cut for the album.

May introduced it by saying it “goes back a very long way, but to my knowledge no one has ever heard this version. It’s a work in progress and will appear on the forthcoming rebuild of the Queen 2 album, coming next year, but I’m sneaking this into my Planet Rock special because I’m fascinated to know what people think about it."

The song dates back to May and Queen drummer Roger Taylor's pre-Queen band Smile. May and Smile vocalist and bassist Tim Staffell wrote it, and they recorded it at De Lane Lea studios in London in September 1969.
