Billy Strings has postponed the last four shows on his spring tour to August after breaking his leg doing a skateboarding trick Saturday night.
Strings has just finished up his set in Charlottesville, Virginia and came offstage to get ready for the encore. He posted on Instagram, "I was all zazzed up from a really fun show. I grabbed my board and tried to do a trick I’ve done a million times (back 180) and landed awkwardly and broke my leg. I heard it snap over the screaming crowd! Sounded like a damn [two by four]."
Strings says he was going to try to finish the tour by "Dave Grohling it. He even texted me and offered me the throne! I really don’t want to let anybody down, but after some long talks with these doctors, my friends, band and colleagues, my wife etc.. I should probably let this thing heal."
Strings will be off for the next two months before returning to the stage July 2nd for a taping of Austin City Limits at the Moody Theater in Austin.
