A popular sweet and salty snack sold around the country has been recalled from stores in more than a dozen states, including Colorado, due to a "serious" health risk.

Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Company issued a voluntary recall of the 0.6 ounce and 4 ounce bags of its Mauna Loa Dark Chocolate Covered Macadamias as the product may contain almonds and cashews that were not declared on the label, according to a recall notice shared by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. The undeclared nuts pose a "serious or life-threatening" risk of allergic reaction to consumers who may have a severe sensitivity or allergy to almonds and/or cashews.

The product was distributed to multiple retailers in more than a dozen states and U.S. territories, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and Guam. 0.6 ounce bag: Best By 10/2026, UPC 0 72992 05464 4, lot numbers K5069C1 and K5069C2
4 ounce bag: Best By 07/2026, UPC 0 72992 05556 6, lot numbers B4339E1 and B4340E1

Consumers with an allergy who have purchased the affected product are encouraged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. As of April 26, there have been no reports of adverse reaction in connection to the recalled product.
