Dead Documentary Launches at Red Rocks Tomorrow

Not only does Colorado get to preview Amazon's new Grateful Dead Documentary "Long Strange Trip" a day before New York and L.A. but it happens at Red Rocks during Film on The Rocks, with an all-star tribute of Colorado musicians playing homage to one of the greatest bands on the planet! Thursday night, The Arthur Lee Land Trio will be the house band, which features members of Great American Taxi and Circles Around The Sun. Special guests performing throughout the show include Erik Yates (Hot Buttered Rum), Sarah Anderson, Carleigh Aikins & Mark Anderson (Paper Bird), Casey Russell (The Magic Beans), Mackenzie Page & Silas Herman (Gipsy Moon), Lionel Young, Andrew McConathy (The Drunken Hearts), Selasee (Selasee and the Fafa Family), Bonnie & Taylor Sims (Bonnie and the Clydes), Alex Johnstone (Rapidgrass), Pete Kartsounes (The Good Time Travelers), Megan Letts (Mama Magnolia) and Jessica Jones (MLIMA). After the performances, at 8:30pm "Long Strange Trip" finally hits the big screen!  It took years to assemble this 4 hour Dead documentary, but thanks to Amazon, director Amir Bar-Lev (The Tillman Story) and executive producer Martin Scorsese, the film will be seen by fans not only here in Colorado, but around the globe this week! - Frank
