Film Director Peter Bogdanovich has died at 82

Peter Bogdanovich died earlier today of natural causes at his Los Angeles home. He was 82. The director left behind a legacy of memorable films including "The Last Picture Show, "What's Up Doc" and "Paper Moon." His film that left the biggest impact with me, however, was "Mask" with Cher and Eric Stoltz. I remember seeing the film at a theater with a date and I was so moved emotionally, I couldn't talk for hours afterwards without breaking into tears. Every time I hear the Grateful Dead's Ripple" I think of Rocky Dennis. Here's a tribute TCM put together a few years ago on the career of Bogdanovich, including not only movies he directed but also some of his acting roles. (photo: Getty Images)
