A popular children's snack product has been recalled across the country due to posing a major safety risk. The risk is seemingly so severe that the company is discontinuing all batches of it altogether.

Gerber Products Company has recalled all batches of its Gerber Sooth 'n' Chew Teething Sticks in the flavors Strawberry Apple and Banana and will be discontinuing the line over the risk of posing a choking hazard for infants and young children, according to a recall notice shared by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. The recall was initiated after the company received complaints of choking incidents, and at least one trip to the emergency room.

The products were distributed nationwide online and in retail stores in over three dozen states, including Colorado. The recall affects all lot codes of the following products:

"We sincerely apologize for any concern or inconvenience this action represents to parents, caregivers and retail customers," the company said in the announcement, adding that they are fully cooperating with the FDA on the recall.
