Bruce Springsteen fans have wanted a massive Born in the U.S.A. box set like those done for Darkness on the Edge of Town and The River for a long time. And now there's finally one -- but it's only on sale in Japan.
The 40th anniversary box is due out September 25th and it features the 2014 remastered version of the original album on one CD with the other three CDs containing an entire concert from August 22nd, 1985 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This concert has been available through the live Springsteen archive site for some time, but has never gotten a proper commercial release.
This set won't really scratch that itch for Springsteen fans craving a Born in the U.S.A. box. Springsteen has plenty to choose from that's not included, like the songs from those sessions released on Tracks in 1998, the unreleased material still in the vaults, the seven B-sides of all the singles (not all of which have been remastered and reissued) plus the 12-inch mixes of "Dancing in the Dark," "Cover Me" and "Born in the U.S.A.," which have never been released on CD or digitally.
