Hi friends! This weekend on our Public Affairs Show called "Front Range Focus"....I speak with the Director of Colorado Search and Rescue .
All of these SARS organizations around Colorado are all-volunteer groups. It's estimated that some of these SARS volunteers spend over a thousand dollars a year for equipment. Plus they give their time to rescue people. The State Legislature is trying to figure out how to get these organizations some funding.
Also it's Global Down Syndrome Awareness day on 3-21. This organization has been making a difference in the lives of people with Down Syndrome for almost a decade now through research and support. We talk about how it's been since the pandemic .Adults older than 40 with Down syndrome are about three times more likely to die of COVID-19 than the rest of the population.
