Joni Mitchell was awarded the Gershwin Prize for Popular Music

A well deserved honor for this amazing singer-songwriter!!

We get to watch the ceremony on tv later this month! Joni sings Circle Game with everyone and of course her new BFF, Brandi Carlile sings! Love this!

Joni Mitchell was awarded the Gershwin Prize for Popular Music from the Library of Congress Wednesday night in Washington, D.C.

“It’s just a beautiful event for me,” said Joni. “So many people that I care about are here tonight from different parts of my life. New friends, old friends. It’s just kind of thrilling.”

Among those friends were two former boyfriends -- Graham Nash and James Taylor -- along with Cyndi LauperAnnie LennoxMarcus Mumford and Brandi Carlile.

The ceremony will premiere on PBS on March 31st at 9 p.m. ET.
