Tina Turner has passed away at the age of 83, after a long illness. She had been living in Switzerland with her husband since the mid-90's.
Tina Turner first rose to fame in the 1960's, as part of "Ike and Tina Turner", and had many hits, including "Proud mary". She left Ike Turner after years of abuse, with just a few cents in her pocket, and hit solo fame in 1984 with her album, "Private Dancer". She has 12 Grammys, including "Record of the Year", in 1984, for "What's Love Got to Do with It".
