That new Mumford & Sons and Hozier collaboration "Rubber Band Man" isn't part of a deluxe version of Rushmere, as many fans expected.
That new single is actually from a new album called Prizefighter due out on February 13th. It was produced by Aaron Dessner of The National. And it's an album stacked with collaborations beyond the one with Hozier -- Chris Stapleton is on the album opener "Here," Gigi Perez appears on a song called "Icarus," and Gracie Abrams sings on a track named "Badlands."
The band says, "We think Prizefighter is the best music we’ve ever made, and we’ve never been happier doing it. With the help of our old friend Aaron we found this creative flow that brought out the best in us as artists, and made us feel comfortable in our skins, and confident in what we have to bring to this mad world of music.
"We also thought the time, and the songs, were right to invite some of our favorite artists in the world to collaborate with us... We cannot wait for you to hear it."
Prizefighter will come out less than 11 months after the band's last album, Rushmere, which was released on March 28th of this year.
