Adele has had nothing but success in the music world, but she's willing to risk that winning streak with her upcoming movie debut.
The singer will co-star alongside Nicholas Hoult, Colin Firth and Euphoria star Hunter Schafer in a film adaptation of Anne Rice's Cry to Heaven, which completed filming in Italy this week. A source close to Adele tells Star magazine that she's been looking to Lady Gaga for inspiration, saying "Gaga’s managed to transform herself into a viable Hollywood leading lady while not losing her music career. Adele wants to replicate that."
"Time will tell if Adele’s acting skills are up to the challenge. This movie is a crapshoot — she’s willing to risk her entire image for it."
Cry to Heaven is slated for release this fall.
