Ex-Turnstile guitarist Brady Ebert is facing an attempted murder charge in Maryland that involves the father of Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates.
The Baltimore Banner reports that that Ebert is accused of intentionally hitting 79-year-old William Yates with his car on Sunday. Responding to a 911 call, police in Silver Spring, Maryland found William Yates in his front yard with "trauma to his lower extremities." Police claim that Ebert showed up outside Yates's home, honked his horn, yelled obscenities, and ran Yates over.
Ebert was arrested on Tuesday by Montgomery County, Maryland officers and charged with attempted second degree murder and first degree assault.
Ebert was in court yesterday (Wednesday) and is due back in court today for a bail/bond review hearing.
Ebert co-founded Turnstile in 2010 and played on the group's first three albums, including their breakthrough record, 2021's Glow On. In August 2022, Turnstile announced that they were "parting ways" with the guitarist.
