Hozier says he's starting to go through all the song ideas he's collected since his last album three years ago.
He told Alchemy With Anthony Mason, "I have what can only be described as a silo of phone memos from three years of touring. I said to the Mumford [& Sons] guys, 'I feel like I've left the fields there for three years and now it's time to harvest.' Some of the vegetables might have survived -- I have to listen back to all the phone memos -- some should have stayed in the ground."
It might be surprising to find out that it's been three years since Unreal Unearth came out because Hozier has been very productive during all his touring in support of the album. He teamed up with Noah Kahan for a duet on "Northern Attitude" in late 2023, released the smash "Too Sweet" and the Unheard and Unaired EPs in 2024, and collaborated with Mumford & Sons on their hit "Rubber Band Man" in 2025.
